If you're just getting started, our Beginner Camping Checklist is a great place to begin. Once you've packed your gear, explore our favorite Texas State Parks or browse our guide to camp kitchens. Camping is for everyone and we want to help you get out there and explore.

— Texas Adventures —

There is SO much to explore in Texas! The state is huge, 268,596 square miles, and is home to 10 different eco regions. This means you can spend one night in the Piney Woods and the next night in the High Plains, provided you can make the 10 hour drive in one day. Texas is home to 88 State Parks (and growing due to new funding).

Aside from outdoor adventures there's a lot to do and learn too. You can visit Texas' largest cities like Houston and Dallas, or museums like Ship to Shore or one of three Presidential Libraries. You can also float a lazy river in a baseball park.

Wether you're a Texas resident and are looking to explore your state or you're just here for a vacation, there's so much to do and see.

The Texas State Park Journal is the perfect log book for any explorer wanting to keep a record of their Texas State Park adventures.

"I just received my copy as a gift from my mom. Looking forward to using it when the weather cools at the local State Parks. The build quality seems good with a thick paper cover that should hold up in my hiking bag. I like the addition of an activities checklist as well as a park stamp spot. I could see this being really useful with kids as a way for them to document their adventures. Quality product that is making me excited for hiking once the weather cools!"

— Family Travel —

Traveling with your family does not have to be hard or expensive. We've driven a few hours from home for a fun weekend trip, hopped a plane to a different part of the country, explored with our young kid across country boarders, and taken cruises with a six year old. Our family has learned a lot along the way and we're not about to gate keep any of it.

We've found ways to make packing so much easier (and faster) with our favorite travel gear. And found hidden gems on short 48 hour trips. So what are you waiting for, it's time to explore with your family!

— Travel In a Camper or RV —

In 2020, while everyone was hunkered down, we bought a waterlogged camper, completely gutted it, and rebuilt it to fit our family's travel needs. We still tent camp, but we've learned so much from renovating our camper, to having tires explode on the freeway, to water leaks, to fun adventures across the country.

We've also spent the last several years fine tuning our camper organization and needs. There's a lot to buy when you buy a camper and we had to figure it out through trial and error. You don't have to do that, especially if you check out Things to Buy When You Buy a Camper.
